All members of AutoGroup must support the National Warranty Program for exhaust products. This provides all the businesses participating in the program with more location options to effectively provide warranty service to non-resident customers.

Customers should be instructed to contact the original installation shop for out-of-town warranty issues. Give the customer name, location and telephone number to the nearest AutoGroup member for warranty service. For a complete and current member list, please contact AutoGroup.

In order to provide prompt, professional service to the customer for the National Warranty Program, the following outlined procedures should be followed.

WARRANTY PROCEDURES

Upon receiving a request for Warranty Service, the shop manager should:

1.Verify the original purchase by receipt or warranty certificate.

2.Check the vehicle to ensure the warranty conditions are valid (i.e. that no backfire or other abuse has occurred).

3.Confirm the installation with the original shop by telephone and receive authorization for the necessary replacements.

All Exhaust products are covered by a 90-day factory warranty (MSL Mufflers - 1 year, Challenge - Limited lifetime consumer warranty). For information on the converter warranty, refer to the converter catalogue.

Under the terms of the Factory Warranty (90 days & under), (MSL - 1 year), the shop should complete the following:


1.Complete the parts replacement. There is no service charge to the customer.

2.The original installation shop is billed a $20.00 service fee for the appropriate labour amount for the job.

3.The faulty product is held for factory warranty claim.

Under the terms of the AutoGroup members Extended Warranty (over 90 days), the following should be done:

1.After the approval by telephone from the original member, complete the parts replacement. The customer is billed for the applicable service charge and taxes only.

2.The shop providing the warranty service will invoice the original AutoGroup IMDA member at the current jobber price, less 25%. All invoices should be paid net 30 days.

It is imperative that all AutoGroup members cooperate to provide topnotch service to the non-resident customers. The above procedures are intended to help meet this goal. This program may also be used for non-exhaust warranty service.
